Dead of Winter (1987)

Short and sweet, no spoilers.Actually...

An actress accepts a mysterious job from a peculiar group of strangers that have her go up to a desolate house in the "dead of winter" and audition. Before she knows it she finds herself in the middle of a nightmare where dark secrets are unveiled and horrible things begin to happen to her.

Although this begins dramatically enough there is initially a bit of a lull while we are introduced to husband and brother. There is enough here during the non action to warn us that not all is going to be sweet and light.
